Hail to the Queen...

Happy Birthday Queenie...thank goodness we celebrate your birthday so we get a day off work...yippee..
So, what did we do today? Well, we got up early and went out for a hot choccy and some fruit toast from the evil empire that is McDs...yum, fruit toast is good!! Then we went to the Warehouse, some other random shops then got some groceries and came home. I did a few loads of washing then took Stellar for a leisurely walk in the sunshine, she was a good girl and enjoyed cruising the streets and the parks. I did notice the poor school boys at Nelson College were warming up for a rugby match...how annoying having to play sport on a day off school.
This afternoon I did some cleaning, not cause I like it, but because I needed to, did the laundry, used my super sewing machine to patch a couple of pairs of the worst designed long shorts that R wears...they both ripped in the same place (the arse)...now they are patched...SO..as you can see, a pretty laid back kind of day, just what the Queen would have ordered I am sure.
SO I have taken a few random photos as it is pretty boring with just writing...

Do you like my new gumboots...I was thinking of getting pretty floral ones but these just stood out...yay for the Warehouse...Stellar thinks they are pretty groovy...

This is my new Cath Kidston material purchased from Trademe...sadly the pieces were way smaller than I imagined (even though the woman gave measurements I think my brain wasn't functioning when I was bidding), one of them might make a seat cover for my bargain chair (as seen below). My new favorite place to shop is The Recycling Centre..it is true what they say about one person's junk being another's treasure. I love my wee white chair (with retro snake/croc skin seat)...I am planning to strip it, paint it and recover the seat...it will become my painting throne...And lastly...a photo of some lovely catalogues that I ordered online from the UK...they are from Toast, which make the most gorgeous clothes and homewares...and if I was a squillionaire I would have our house kitted out in this stuff!! The website is www.toast.co.uk and it is worth a look as they stuff is fab and the "books" have lots of project ideas and were free...yes, sent across the world for free!!

Yay for Queen's Birthday! I just finished watching Bones. One of my treats for the week. I'm trying to pull myself out of the hole I'm in. Very pleased that Miss M has a blog now. Might go a drum up a blog entry myself. XXX

Thanks for the comment :-) Love the gumboots - nearly bought some pink flowery ones from there on Wednesday afternoon (payday). I didn't though as was already purchasing a scarf, some gloves and a hat.

We also went to the recycling centre yesterday. Saw a few chairs, but they were all rickety. It was annoying that all the nice chairs were in the make an offer auction thingy.

There were some nice big desks in the outdoors furniture bit. I thought they'd be good for the room downstairs, but they were quite big and not easily transportable unfortunately. I will keep looking on TM.

Sleep well
