Seeing red...

Today is red day, it kind of suits my mood as I have found out I have to go to Blenheim for work early tomorrow so will be up and driving by 6:30am, I only hope it is not frosty. I will give myself plenty of time.
I struggled a bit with red, not because I didn't have red things (actually I don't have that many red things...no red tops I don't think, not really my colour having pink cheeks most of the time!!)...but I found red quite difficult to photograph, doesn't show true colour with the flash, nor without...anyway, here goes...

Meet my very politically incorrect friend, the Gollywog (ok, possibly should be called a Golly). I have vast fleets of these jolly fellows...in fact many, many of them. When I was a child I used to sleep with them all in my bed and would be distraught if I couldn't find one of them...they have many names, Dollywog, Stripe, Sambo, Orange, Paintpot etc etc...I still have them. Sometimes Dad and Mum would bring me back a handknitted one from a daffodil show, handmade by one of the local old ladies. This chap was bought for me by my dear sister PoppyBlack, he is a true gentleman and features the true golly colour of red.

My red boots...sadly the colour is not good in the photo. I got these babies in Dublin, I would have killed for the knee length version as skinny legged people everywhere were parading round in them, alas my thick shanks would only handle the shorter version...they are nice nonetheless....
A pile of dog and heart ribbon..I loved it so much I had to buy some but what to use it for??? That is the question....
Devils liquor...Diet Coke...ahhhh...if there was a world ban on all but one beverage may Diet Coke reign supreme...one of my few vices!!
Another day couldn't pass without Stellar getting in on the act...this red raincoat in a bag has been marvelously useful and doubles as a dog toy...she will carry it round for hours hoping to be chased....
Lovely red stripe on R's red and grey striped woolen hoodie jumper...it is cosy and warm and lovely...just like him....
So, thats red...took a few more photos but not too impressed with the colours...
Am enjoying seeing the efforts of my two blogging buddies, it is fun to look at your life with "colour" eyes.

That is annoying about Blenheim - hopefully you will get a chance to look in the shops. And it's been fairly mild in the mornings lately, so fingers crossed for a frost-free trip!

Yay for getting the house back and for Saturday night being a happening thing! I am working on a food list, will have it sorted by Friday.

Drive safe

Everyone has red boots except for me! :( Maybe next year I can get some. I'll have to shrink the shanks somehow. Shame about Blenheim. Godforsaken hell hole that it is. Actually I've only bypassed it, but sounds a dry old hole. Be careful on the road. XXX
